"That You May Come Off Conqueror"
Each of us has problems that we cannot solve and weaknesses that we cannot conquer without reaching out through prayer to a higher source of strength. That source is the God of heaven to whom we pray in the name of Jesus Christ…We are privileged to pray daily for the small and great concerns in our lives...to pray against the power of our enemies and the devil...When we are not crying directly unto God, we should let our hearts be drawn out in prayer unto Him continually.

We as faithful Saints have been strengthened by adversity and are the recipients of the Lord’s tender mercies. We have moved forward under the promise of the Lord: “I will not suffer that [mine enemies] shall destroy my work…”…We should not be surprised by Satan’s efforts to thwart or discredit temple worship and work. The devil despises the purity in and the power of the Lord’s house. And the protection available to each of us in and through temple ordinances and covenants stands as a great obstacle to the evil designs of Lucifer.

- Ronald A. Rasband, By Divine Design

- Robert D. Hales, “If Ye Love Me, Keep My Commandments”
Spiritual momentum is created “over a lifetime as we repeatedly embrace the doctrine of Christ.”…As the Holy Ghost exerts a greater influence in our lives, we progressively and iteratively develop Christlike attributes. Our hearts change. Our disposition to do evil diminishes. Our inclination to do good increases until we only want “to do good continually.” And we thereby access the heavenly power needed to endure to the end. Our faith has increased...

We cannot love what we do not know... Before we can teach the gospel, we must know the gospel…The Lord has commanded us to search the scriptures, to feast upon them, and to treasure them up…If you earnestly search the scriptures and treasure up in your minds the words of life, if you keep the commandments with all of your heart… you will enjoy the companionship of the Holy Ghost and you will receive revelation.
