I can be thankful for what God has given me

 Numbers 11:4-10

Gratitude requires awareness and effort, not only to feel it but to express it. Frequently we are oblivious to the Lord’s hand. We murmur, complain, resist, criticize; so often we are not grateful...The Lord counsels us not to murmur because it is then difficult for the Spirit to work with us. Gratitude is a Spirit-filled principle. It opens our minds to a universe permeated with the richness of a living God...When we communicate gratitude, we can be filled with the Spirit and connected to those around us and the Lord. Gratitude inspires happiness and carries divine influence.

Numbers 12:1-8

In October 2024, President Dallin H. Oaks gave the following counsel: “Following Christ is not a casual or occasional practice. It is a continuous commitment and way of life that should guide us at all times and in all places. His teachings and His example define the path for every disciple of Jesus Christ. And all are invited to this path.”… It is interesting to me that some people would think that God’s prophets live in the past and are not attuned to the times. Everything I know of prophets is the opposite. They actually see into the future as watchmen on a tower.

Numbers 14:1-3

Numbers 14:22-24

[W]e need not fear the future, nor falter in hope and good cheer, because God is with us. Among the first recorded words of counsel that Jesus gave to His newly called disciples in Galilee was the two-word admonition, “Fear not”. He repeated that counsel many times during His ministry. To His Saints in our day, the Savior has said, “Be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you”. ...if we humbly, quietly trust in the Lord, He will give us strength and guidance in every challenge we face.

Numbers 14:5-9

Moses led the children of Israel into the wilderness. In the second year of their wandering, he chose a representative from each of the twelve tribes to search the land of Canaan and bring back a report concerning its resources and its people...The twelve of them went into the land of Canaan. They found it to be fruitful...But ten of the spies were victims of their own doubts and fears. They gave a negative report of the numbers and stature of the Canaanites... the people were more willing to believe the ten doubters than to believe Caleb and Joshua.

Numbers 21:5-9

Alma cited the example of the brass serpent raised by Moses when the ancient Israelites were afflicted by fiery serpents... Alma explained that the brass figure was a type or symbol of Christ, who would be lifted up upon the cross. Many did look and live, but others... simply would not look and perished...In looking to God, we can find peace in difficulty, and our faith can continue to grow even in times of doubt and spiritual challenge. We can receive strength in the face of opposition and isolation..Truly, there is no other way than what God Himself has ordained: “Look unto me, and be ye saved..."

Numbers 22:5-7, 15-18

One of the sneaky ploys of the adversary is to have us believe that unquestioning obedience to the principles and commandments of God is blind obedience. His goal is to have us believe that we should be following our own worldly ways and selfish ambitions… Another of the adversary’s deceptions is to have us believe that the wisdom and the learning of the world is the only source of knowledge we should follow.

…Some come to believe that you may pick and choose which of God’s commandments to follow.
